Sachin Tendulkar has scored the most runs for India in Test cricket. The right-hand batter amassed 15921 runs in 200 Tests at an impressive average of 53.78. Tendulkar also boasts 51 Test centuries — the most hundreds in the format — along with 68 fifties.

Rahul Dravid occupies the second spot with 13265 runs in 163 matches at an average of 52.63 runs. Sunil Gavaskar is the other batter to score 10000+ Test runs for India, having accumulated 10122 runs in 125 Tests.

Virat Kohli comes fourth, with close to 9000 runs under his belt. VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag are part of the 8000-run club in the longest format.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly sits in seventh position, with 7212 runs in 113 matches. The dependable Cheteshwar Pujara has scored 7195 Test runs from 103 games.

Dilip Vengsarkar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Gundappa Viswanath, Kapil Dev, Ajinkya Rahane, and MS Dhoni have crossed the 5000-run mark in Test cricket.
