Anil Kumble has picked up the most wickets for India in Test cricket. The former leg spinner racked up 619 wickets in 132 Tests, including 35 five-wicket hauls and 8 ten-fers.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who occupies the second spot, became the second Indian bowler to take 500 wickets in Tests. He surpassed the milestone in 98 Tests, making him the second-fastest bowler to 500 Test scalps after Muthiah Muralidaran.
Kapil Dev sits at No. 3 with 434 scalps in 131 matches, which is the most by an Indian pacer in the format. Former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh finds himself in the fourth spot, bagging 417 wickets in 103 matches.
Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma have taken 311 wickets each, occupying the joint fifth position. Ravindra Jadeja is inching closer to his 300th Test scalp.
Bishan Singh Bedi, Bhagwath Chandrasekhar, Javagal Srinath, and Mohammed Shami have picked up 200+ wickets in the longer format.
